Why A 14-Panel Drug Test?

We know almost a lot about drugs and their results as well as impacts. But often we do not tend to look at the positive side. We always consider the happenings as unstoppable. But we do not realize there are ways to bring a stop to these. Or at least, reduce the happenings considerably. For this, we have to take the first step i.e. identification. Most drug abusers and patients die because they consider this issue as something unresolvable.

The best thing about a medical unit is its testing laboratory. All drug substances are now easy to detect and determine. Hence, people now are getting awareness to head to a medical unit early. Thus, nowadays, you will see more patients in rehab centers than in hospitals. But more effort is the requirement to improve the conditions. For this, we have the support of panel tests. Panel tests help to determine drug substance presence and predict a perfect cure. Through these tests, it is now possible to rehab the drug addicts and patients easily.

14-Panel Test

All drug tests although look familiar and similar. But differ in the numeric digits they carry. These digits, for example fourteen, predict the total number of substances you will be testing for. Hence, it becomes easy to determine what sort of test you will be conducting. Moreover, the higher number of substance testing will provide a wide set of results to you. Such a testing is helpful in offices, and in certain drug abuse cases.

However, a 14-panel drug test will conduct for fourteen basic substances.

  1. Amphetamines
  2. Heroine
  3. Morphine
  4. Oxycodone
  5. Cocaine
  6. Marijuana
  7. Benzodiazepines
  8. Methamphetamines
  9. Codeine
  10. Hydrocodone
  11. Molly
  12. Barbiturates
  13. Propoxyphene
  14. Methadone

And many elements also up for grabs in such a testing. Only 16-panel testing comes ahead of this panel test. Hence, this shows the capability of these tests.

Test Conductance

Apart from the wide substance testing capability, all panel tests offer easy conductance. It is easy to conduct such a test at home in addition to a medical unit. However, doctors prefer to conduct it in a medical unit for a safe experience. The basic requirement is of a urine sample and not a blood one. Hence, the follow test also goes by 14-panel urine drug test name.

At first, a urine sample is to be obtained from the patient. For this, either you can use a special test cup or a plastic disposable cup. The latter has use when conducting at home. After the urine sample comes in a cup, the next step is to introduce conducting elements. You can make use of test a strip or a drug screen.

·         Test Strips

A test strip is similar to a thick paper but light. It interacts with the urine sample and presents results by getting wet. A test strip, though, provides results in a while and not rapidly. Hence, they always come in a test cup.

·         Test Screen

A drug screen is a plastic casing containing columns. The columns represent each element and their number is same as the substances to test. Hence, a 14-panel drug screen or a 14-panel urine drug screen will contain fourteen columns.
